🔹 General Notary Services

What documents require notarization in Texas?

In Texas, documents that commonly require notarization include deeds and property transfers, powers of attorney, wills and trusts, affidavits and sworn statements, loan documents and promissory notes, contracts and agreements, vehicle title transfers, and medical directives and healthcare proxies. Notarization verifies the identity of the signers and ensures they sign willingly and under their own free will.

Additional notarized documents in Texas often include:

  • Divorce and family law documents such as divorce settlement agreements, child custody agreements, adoption papers, and prenuptial/postnuptial agreements.

  • Business and corporate documents like articles of incorporation, partnership agreements, business contracts, and loan guarantees.

  • Estate documents such as designation of guardian forms, affidavits of heirship, and withdrawal of claim in estate proceedings.

  • Authorization agreements for nonparent care of a child and minor travel consent letters (though not always legally required, often notarized for authority).

Some medical documents require notarization or two witnesses, including advance healthcare directives and medical powers of attorney, to ensure legal validity and that the signer is of sound mind.

It is important to note that not all documents require notarization by law; requirements depend on the document type and the institution or agency involved. For example, Texas notaries cannot notarize recordable documents like birth certificates or marriage licenses.

If you have a specific document type in mind, We can provide more detailed notarization requirements for that document.
